Why People Confuse Them
At first glance they differ in energy: a Seven is fast and restless, a Nine calm. But both tend to be friendly and optimistic, like people, and avoid unpleasantness. Both can also keep themselves constantly busy and struggle to stick to one task.
What the Difference Is
A Seven seeks excitement and intense experiences so they don't have to feel discomfort. They usually know what they want and won't let anyone take their plans away. What pulls them from important things is whatever happens to be more interesting right now. The worse they feel, the more demanding they get and the more they overdo it.
A Nine wants peace. Strong stimuli tend to disturb them, and they feel best when nothing is too much or too little. They keep busy with small, safe activities so they don't have to face what worries them. They often don't know what they want and join in with other people's plans. What pulls them from important things is other people's demands and trivial tasks. The worse they feel, the more passive and indifferent they become.
